They significantly reduce the strain on the fingers or hands as during typing muscles are completely relaxed. Although ergonomics is just emerging science in Ukraine, I am sure that quite soon the people-machine relationships will be improved to such an extent that all the devices which people use will blend smoothly with a person's body or actions. Ergonomic keyboards is only one example of such blending. The keyboards are indeed very convenient.
